WARDOGS System Requirements

PC & Tech Last updated Official specs from Steam

Answer

Minimum: Windows 10 64-bit, Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM, Nvidia GTX 1660 or AMD RX 590, broadband, around 50 GB storage — targeting 1080p Low at 60 fps with upscaling. Recommended: Windows 11, Core i7-12700K or Ryzen 7 5700X, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT — targeting 1440p Medium at 70 fps or higher native, or 4K Medium at 60 fps upscaled.

Read the performance targets carefully. The minimum specification is quoted with upscaling on. That means a GTX 1660 hitting 60 fps at “1080p” is rendering below 1080p internally and upscaling to it. It is an honest way to state a target, but it is not the same as native 1080p60. Our settings guide covers what that means in practice.

Can I run WARDOGS? A GPU check

The most common form of this question is about a specific card. This table maps common GPUs against the stated bar. It is a reference for where a card sits relative to the official minimum, not a benchmark — no independent performance data exists before launch.

GPUVersus official specRealistic expectation
RTX 4070 / RX 7800 XT and aboveAbove recommended1440p High or better
RTX 3070 / RX 6700 XTRecommended1440p Medium, 70 fps+ target

Below-minimum hardware is a gamble, not a plan. Games below the stated minimum GPU often start and sometimes even run acceptably in quiet moments — and then collapse in the exact situation the game is built around, which here is 100 players contesting one 4 km² square with vehicles and destruction. If you are below the bar, Steam's two-hour refund window is the practical way to find out cheaply.

The CPU matters more than usual

Worth flagging: the recommended CPU jump is steep. From an i5-8600 to an i7-12700K is a much larger gap than GTX 1660 to RTX 3070 represents on the GPU side.

That pattern is typical of games where the simulation load is the bottleneck rather than the rendering load, and WARDOGS has an unusually heavy simulation: a hundred networked players, vehicles, destructible geometry, and player-built structures being added to the level at runtime. If you are choosing where to upgrade for this game specifically, do not assume the GPU is automatically the answer.

System requirements FAQ

What are the minimum requirements for WARDOGS?

Windows 10 64-bit, i5-8600 or Ryzen 5 3500, 16 GB RAM, GTX 1660 or RX 590, broadband and about 50 GB of storage, targeting 1080p Low 60 fps with upscaling.

What are the recommended requirements?

Windows 11, i7-12700K or Ryzen 7 5700X, 16 GB RAM and an RTX 3070 or RX 6700 XT, targeting 1440p Medium at 70 fps+.

Can I run WARDOGS on a GTX 1650?

It is below the GTX 1660 minimum. It may launch and run on the lowest preset, but no playable frame rate is guaranteed.

Can I run WARDOGS on a GTX 1060?

Also below minimum. Expect to fight for 60 fps at the lowest settings, particularly in contested zone fights.

Is 16 GB of RAM enough for WARDOGS?

Yes — it is both the minimum and the recommended figure, so it is the target. 8 GB is below minimum.

How big is the WARDOGS download?

Around 50 GB.

Does WARDOGS need Windows 11?

No. Windows 10 64-bit is the listed minimum; Windows 11 appears in the recommended specification.
